PRODUCT RECALL NOTICE

UNITED STATES ONLY

36-Volt Lithium-Ion Batteries used with VIVI E-bikes

VIVI is conducting a voluntary recall in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission of certain 36-volt lithium-ion rechargeable batteries included with specific VIVI E-Bike models.

Recall Summary

Product: 36-volt lithium-ion batteries used with VIVI E-bikes.

Hazard: The recalled lithium-ion batteries can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards.

Remedy: Replace.

Consumers should immediately STOP using the recalled lithium-ion batteries.

IMPORTANT: Two Steps to Receive a Replacement Battery
 — Missing Either Step May Result in Denial.

1. You must first obtain a confirmation from VIVI if your battery is under this recall; and

2. You must provide disposal proof of the recalled e-bike battery at a household hazardous waste (HHW)   collection  center.

Consumers should immediately STOP using e-bikes with the recalled lithium-ion batteries and contact VIVI to receive a free replacement battery and battery charger.

Consumers should contact VIVI to verify whether their battery is part of the recall before disposing of it. For verification, VIVI may request information such as order information, relevant photos and label information of the affected e-bike and recalled 36V lithium-ion battery.

Eligible consumers must dispose of the recalled battery at a household hazardous waste (HHW) collection center. To obtain a replacement battery, we will REQUIRE proof from you to show that the original battery has been disposed of at a HHW collection centre. If you are unable to provide a proof of disposal, we will NOT provide you the replacement battery.

Proof of Disposal of the Original Battery: A photo showing the recalled battery taken to the applicable HHW collection centre or disposal site. Please indicate the name of the HHW collection centre or disposal site in your email. Alternatively, please email us a receipt issued by the HHW collection centre or disposal site confirming they have received the battery.

Note: Do not throw the recalled lithium-ion battery in the trash, in the general recycling stream (e.g., street-level or curbside recycling bins), or in used battery recycling boxes found at various retail and home improvement stores.

Recalled lithium-ion batteries must be disposed of differently than other batteries, because they present a greater risk of fire. Your municipal household hazardous waste (HHW) collection center may accept this recalled lithium-ion battery or device for disposal. Before taking your battery or device to a HHW collection center, contact them ahead of time and ask whether they accept recalled lithium-ion batteries. If they don’t, contact your municipality for further guidance.
